Melloo was born from a simple observation: restaurant owners and diners in Kenya deserve better payment experiences. After witnessing countless delays, frustrated customers, and lost revenue due to inefficient payment processes, our founding team set out to create a solution.
We started by talking to restaurant owners across Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu. What we heard was consistent: they needed a system that was fast, reliable, integrated with their existing operations, and didn't require massive upfront investment. Most importantly, it had to work for the Kenyan market with features like M-Pesa integration built in from day one.
Since our launch in 2025, we've focused on building technology that genuinely solves problems rather than creating flashy features. Every line of code we write, every feature we add, is tested with real restaurant partners to ensure it makes their lives easier and their operations smoother.
